Well, I am a reader or a bookworm as some might say. I would love to sit with teachers and friends who just enjoy the reading life. Of course, a cup of coffee or tea would definitely add up to the fun. But, where would an activity like this take place? How should we address people with an invitation not as popular as this? How do we choose a book that most people like? Let me share my ideas. I am sure yours could be added, or we could invent new ones together.
- Have a purpose for this activity. Would you like to make community? Does it have an academic purpose? or is this just for fun?
- Set goals. Where do you want to get with this? Would you like to integrate the reading community in school? Would you like to create a product with all of the gathered ideas? Will you be able to use the topics from the conversations in your future classes? or as future references?
- Logistics are important. Have a place and schedule for the meetings you would like to have. Would you like to have snacks? Have a plan for this.
- Have fun! Reading is all about having fun. If you sense somebody being stressed about it, kindly remind them that reading is all about seeing the world through somebody else’s eyes. It’s like having an extra guest in the room.
You might have more or better ideas than these. Please feel free to share them. We grow and improve when we share knowledge and experiences. So, what are you reading today?
