I wonder about several things, but years ago as I was about to begin University and thinking about what field to go into, the school’s chancellor asked us three questions that I will never forget and that still ring into my brain.
- Where are you in your life?
- What do you want for your future?
- What are your plans once you finish university?
These three questions opened my mind allowing me to see a future that I hadn’t paid attention to, a world of possibilities. Yes, by possibilities I mean good ones and bad ones. We all have several future options and paths to follow, but it’s up to us to choose what matters the most, also what’s best for what we want.
Life teaches you and changes you along the way. I have learned to place my trust in the one who is greater than me, to be at peace with my own self and to be disruptive as well. We all have to sacrifice something, sometimes this could hurt deep inside. Still, if we look for the bright side of things, we could learn the true meaning of living with what we need.
When I answer those three questions I wonder if my answers would have been different had I chosen a different path than the one I am living now? Well, I don’t know, as we say in Spanish “el hubiera no existe.” But, what I know is I can wonder and doubt every decision I make for the rest of my life, or I can continue living and improving. No one has all the answers, but still, it is okay to wonder.
